Our residents and employees are involved in their local communities
Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America locations are making their Kansas and Missouri towns a better place to live through local community involvement.
Actions our PMMA locations take to enhance their towns include:
- Collecting canned goods and personal items for tornado and storm relief and the needy
- Host cultural events and greater community celebrations
- Support employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities, high school students and other special populations
- Sponsor memberships in civic organizations and host their meetings
- Sponsor educational events open to area citizens
- Employees volunteer their time through civic organizations, such as youth organization leaders and instructors in their fields of expertise
- Provide transportation for home-bound seniors
- Serve as Kansas Department for Aging and Developmental Services surveyor training sites
- Several locations are training sites for certified nurse assistants and nursing students
- Support charitable organizations through employee and resident time and donations, such as for tornado and flood relief and local Alzheimer’s walks
- Donate hand-made quilts, lap blankets, infant caps and puppy cozies to hospitals and animal shelters
