We love Presbyterian Manor! Our mom was a resident on the skilled nursing floor from July 2019 until she passed away this week. As Mom transitioned from living by herself in her own home, to living in a skilled care facility, it was obvious we had made the right choice in having her live at Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. Mom loved her "meal time friends" and she loved the monthly birthday celebrations.   Mom told us lots of stories about the aides who took such tender care of her, while doing tough jobs. She loved Quentin and his daughter, as well as Emily, and all of the others! (I'm so sorry I can't remember all of your names.) You made her feel loved and special.   Mom loved the RN Michelle and the other nurses, too. Thank you for staying on top of her health. And, she loved her nickname "Sweet C" from the song "Sweet Caroline"!  Finally, thanks to Susan for doing a great job on her hair each time, to Anica for getting Mom to activities, and to the rest of the staff for making Mom's stay enjoyable. When you start wondering if it’s time to downsize, or thinking about having fewer household chores, it may be time to consider an independent living community. When you want peace of mind for the future, while you’re still active enough to enjoy the lifestyle benefits, you should consider moving into an independent living community.

When seniors reach a point where they need a little extra help with daily tasks, moving into an assisted living community may be a good consideration. Often there are concerns about costs, the hassle of moving, or perhaps they associate assisted living with nursing homes. Assisted living is far from a nursing home in our communities. Our seniors maintain active social lives, and they set their own daily schedules. They live in private apartments but enjoy having a maintenance-free lifestyle and receive the extra help that comes with assisted living. Assisted Living is meant to support you so you can live the way you want to live.

Pricing in our assisted living is based on the level of care a resident needs as well as the apartment style. Our community has five levels of care in assisted living.

In our long-term care, our community has a flat rate, which means your rate will not fluctuate based on the level of care needed. The rate is dependent on room style and is a daily rate.

Assisted living residents are more independent and may be able to perform more activities and can get around as they like. They may need help with certain tasks, such as housework or bathing, but they can perform many tasks on their own. Long-term care is a solution for seniors living with chronic health conditions. They often need much more help from a dedicated caregiver, with tasks such as getting in and out of chairs, moving around, and more.

No, Medicaid does not apply to assisted living. But we do accept Medicaid-approved residents in long-term care.

Yes. Couples may live together in The Cypress Memory Care. Second-person fees apply.

Yes, this is not uncommon. Couples can live either in long-term care separately in their own rooms or share two halves of a semi-private room.
