Frequently Asked Questions

Emporia Presbyterian Manor is the only Life Plan community in town, giving independent living resident priority access to other levels of care such as assisted living, long-term care, and short-term rehab. We’re also unique in that we are the only apartment complex where meals, activities, and housekeeping are included in the monthly fee. We also offer some a la cart home health and

We allow one dog, or one cat of 20 pounds of less, two birds or fish in independent living apartments. Our community has a select number of apartments with outdoor access and residents are welcome to use the walking path and vast green space that surrounds the campus to walk and play with their dog. A $500 non-refundable pet fee applies.

In Independent Living, our community offers two options. You can choose a plan with monthly accommodation fees and no up-front fees or non-refundable deposits. This plan simply requires a 30-day notice to vacate the apartment. Or you can choose our 75/25 entrance fee plan in which you pay a deposit (cost depends on style of apartment) at the time of your move. It is designed to allow for 75% of this fee to be refunded to you or your estate when you leave the community, and the residence becomes occupied. The 25% nonrefundable portion remains with the community to further its mission to provide quality services to residents.

In Assisted Living, Emporia Presbyterian Manor is a flat rate community which means you pay a consistent monthly fee, not based on the level of care needed. Also, no deposit is needed and there is no community fee or application fee required up-front.

If your loved one has a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia, they will benefit from living in a memory care neighborhood. Memory care neighborhoods are specifically designed to support the needs of individuals with cognitive impairments and alleviate the stress on family members caring for them. Specially trained staff members provide care and support as well as the necessary structure, social engagement, and mental stimulation residents need. Making the transition will become harder as the disease progresses. If possible, it’s better to make the move while your loved one can participate in the decision.

Emporia Presbyterian Manor is Medicare and Medicaid certified. Medicaid will cover the cost of long-term care or memory care stay for Medicaid-approved residents. Medicare will cover costs associated with rehabilitation and skilled stays, but not room and board.

We provide scheduled in-town medical transportation to appointments at no extra fee. We also offer occasional shopping outings.
